Sit-Com Plots

Episode 1: Oh-no, I did something stupid, and I don't want the other person to know about it. I've hatched a scheme to cover it up, and it looks like I'm successful, but oops, they found out anyway and now I'm embarrassed. Wah-wah.

Episode 2: Oh-no, I'm in the middle of a fight with somebody and now the elevator is stuck. I guess we'll have to argue it out, and the elevator won't start moving until we're friends again.

Episode 3: Oh-no, I've bought all the Christmas presents for my child, but my kid just asked Santa for that one toy that I didn't think of, and all the stores are sold out. I'm going to have to run around town like a maniac looking for it. But wait a minute, the toy just showed up under the tree by itself, because Santa is real.

Episode 4: Oh-no, a pregnant woman just went into labor, and I'm the only one around to deliver the baby, but I'm completely unqualified and starting to panic. Fortunately, it just sort of works out.

Episode 5: Oh-no, my best friend just talked me into a get-rich-quick scheme, but now it looks like it's backfiring, and we're going to lose all our money. We'll try everything in our power to avoid a loss, but in the end, we did lose money, but not enough to hurt our lifestyles, just enough to make us unhappy.

Episode 6: Oh-no, I'm having a fight with someone, and now we're trapped in an elevator WITH a pregnant woman who just went into labor. We're completely unqualified and starting to panic, and the elevator won't start moving again until it all works out.

Episode 7: Oh-no, we've been robbed, and now I'm so afraid of being robbed again that I bought a gun, but uh-oh, the gun went off by itself and almost killed someone, so let's get rid of the gun and stop worrying about being robbed again.

Episode 8: Oh-no, someone is taking drugs during this "very special episode." Say no to drugs!

Episode 9: Oh-no, my neighbor once again almost found out about my secret witch, genie, robot, alien or talking-animal, and now I have to comically make up excuses to cover it up... again.

Episode 10: Oh-no, my crush will never accept me for who I am, so I'll change my appearance to impress him/her, but surprise, he/she liked me just for who I am.

Episode 11: Oh-no, I just overheard part of a conversation that makes me think someone is plotting against me and/or cheating on me. I'm going to become all paranoid, but oops, it was a misunderstanding.

Episode 12: Oh-no, I found out that someone is throwing me a surprise party, but I don't know when or where, so now I have to pretend to be surprised every time I walk into a room. Wait, there's no party, I guess I was wrong and they forgot my birthday, but wait, no they didn't, there's the party after all.

Episode 13: Oh-no, I'm overweight, so I'm starting a new diet, and I'm sure confident that it's going to go well. Oops, I cracked in the middle of the night and went on a junk food binge. Now I feel bad.

Episode 14: Oh-no, I'm trapped in an alternate reality parodying a movie or a book or something. Wait, never mind, it was all a dream. Or was it?

Episode 15: Oh-no, we're trying to put on a show, and we can't get the talented act that we want. Wait, we just got them at the last minute. And now, let's sit back and enjoy the performance, almost as if this whole episode was just an excuse to showcase a musical number or variety act.

Episode 16:  Oh-no, my friend wants to perform in the talent show, and I don't have the heart to tell them how badly they suck.  I finally work up the nerve to tell the truth, but wait a minute, they pull out a completely different act at the last minute and actually put on a good show.

Episode 17: Oh-no, I've got a really important meeting coming up, and I've accidentally handcuffed myself to my friend.  Oh well, I guess we'll just have to look silly.

Episode 18:  Oh-no, I told somebody that I'm the boss of my company, and now they're coming over to visit.  Now I have to keep the lie going as long as possible.  Uh-oh, they expect me to pay for something I can't afford.  I guess the jig is up.  But wait, it turns out that they were lying too.

Episode 19:  Oh-no, I used my friend's name, and now my friend and I have to pretend to be each other in order to keep the lie going.  Uh-oh, we just got into an argument, and now we have to incorporate insults into the lie until the other person gets fed up and leaves.

Episode 20:  Oh-no, someone is getting married and EVERYTHING is going wrong!  The ring was misplaced, a dark secret was revealed, the cake fell on the floor, the bride's dress ripped leaving her in her underwear, the dog knocked over the buffet table, and the minister is angry, drunk, missing, injured or dead.  But wait, we can improvise a new cake, new ring, new dress and new minister at the last minute.

Episode 21:  Oh-no, I'm being sued by my friend!  We're going to take turns outright lying in front of a judge, and possibly try to sway the jury with a musical number.  It doesn't matter, though, because we make up in the end, so the judge's decision doesn't matter.

Episode 22:  Oh-no, a crime was committed, but somehow, the criminal was defeated.  Now each of us is telling the police a slightly different story of what happened, in which each one of us claims to be the hero who stopped him.

Episode 23:  Oh-no, I have to give a speech at a funeral for someone I either never liked or didn't actually know.  Time to start bullshitting.

Episode 24:  Oh-no, the kids are putting on a school play, and the klutz is playing the lead.  I hope the entire set doesn't get destroyed.  Oops, it did.

Episode 25:  Oh-no, I forgot my wedding anniversary, and now I have to buy my wife a last-minute super-expensive gift, but the stores are all closed.  But wait, just as she was about to yell at me for forgetting, I managed to come up with a last-second improvised cheap-but-thoughtful gift.

Episode 26:  Oh-no, I've been hit over the head and/or found an old photo album, and now I'm having flashbacks to all the highlights of the past several episodes, ending with the first one.

Episode 27:  Oh-no, I've been hit over the head, and now I have that very specific form of amnesia where I either don't know who I am or I think I'm someone else, and I won't go back to normal until the end of the episode, possibly from getting hit over the head again.

Episode 28:  Oh-no, I just finished a huge dinner, and now my friend remembered that I was invited to someone else's house for dinner.  I guess I'll have a second dinner.  But wait, my friend got the names mixed up, and I just invited myself to the wrong friend's house.  Now I have to go to the right person's house and eat a third dinner.

Final Episode:  Oh-no, literally everyone we know has simultaneously gotten a new job, new house, new school, or new life in a different part of the country (or possibly different planet) and we're all never going to see each other again until the reunion.  What are the odds?  Group hugs all around.
